The 56 year old murderer collapsed at the side of a swimming pool at Ashworth North Hospital and died. An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned yesterday in Waterloo... In 1961 Sims was locked up for manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He was sent to Broadmoor and later transferred to Park Lane. James John Oliphant (64) received a life sentence in 1964 for the murders. A Scottish office spokeswoman last night confirmed his death, believed to be from natural causes. A post-mortem examination is likely to be held.

Andrew Walker collapsed during physical training at Dumfries YOI two weeks before his 21st birthday. Walker was convicted at the High Court in Perth in January 1993 of murdering Ray Cooling (47), Middlesex...A spokeswoman for the Scottish prison service said on 12th July Walker was put on a life support machine,at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary he did not regain consciousness and died at noon the next day. George Furay, 57, was convicted at Liverpool Crown Court twenty years ago for the murder of Linda Horton...He has been serving his sentence at Bristol jail until being transferred to an outside hospital. Ronald James Barclay, 67, died at the Maghull high security hospital in March this year. A Ministry of Health spokesman said "I can confirm that he has died but can say no more" At his trial at Chester Assizes, he pleaded guilty - but with diminished responsibility to the manslaughter of Mrs Marjorie Hill and John Crossland, on separate dates. He was described as "a very dangerous man" (Daily Mirror 12th July 1967)

Alfred Jolly died 14th June 1960 in Broadmoor, aged 39 www.blackkalendar.nl/c/17243/Alfred%20JollyAlfred Jolly, 39, formerly of Wade Passage, Leeds, who in 1948 was found guilty of murder but insane and was sent to Broadmoor, died at the institution yesterday.
