I've not posted on here before and I'm not great at forums but wanted to talk about some things I've read on here that may be relevant to me and I'm having mixed feelings about it.
I live in a quiet village and a while back a lady moved up the road from me with her son who was the same age as mine.
She seems nice enough and gets involved with the local church to the point where she is now one of the pastors there.
Her son is nice and polite although a bit odd in some ways.
I heard through people talking that her husband is in prison for doing something. It's said she's stood by him and visits and sends letters to hmp prisons all the time.
Fair enough.. I'm no one to judge.
But then I hear her husband is being released and is moving in with her and her son at the end of my road.
One of my colleagues hears the husband was serving a life sentence for killing his baby and attempting to kill the other one.
I think surely not? She's very close to her son and they are always together, she goes to church all the time. The two just don't seem to mix with killing your own child and as a mother I cannot understand how any woman could stand by her man after that.
So I do some research and find on this site 2 articles, one from my local paper and another a court transcript, naming the lady and the horrific details of the murder of one son and then various attempts to murder the other son.
So sure enough, the husband comes out and moves in with the mother and son. He seems very polite and friendly. She seems to be on cloud 9 having him home and the son just seems to be getting on with it.
The husband gets involved with the church also and is currently helping out my next door neighbour in her garden.
I'd kept this information to myself but this week my friend asked me if I knew about it as someone had said to her and she couldn't believe it.
I've just got so many mixed emotions about it. If any murderer moved in the village everyone would be up in arms saying we don't want people like that here. But this is a child killer who almost murdered his 2nd son also. And the husband of our village church pastor?! I wonder if my next door neighbour knows who is strimming her grass for her.
I'm all for forgiveness and leaving people alone but reading the list from the court is bone chilling and the fact that he showed no remorse.
How would you feel and what if anything would you do?
