About time. In fact a case of death by dangerous driving is one of the main stories this week in Scotland, the killer got 5yrs and 3m, and the victim's family are rightly livid at such a light sentence.

About time. In fact a case of death by dangerous driving is one of the main stories this week in Scotland, the killer got 5yrs and 3m, and the victim's family are rightly livid at such a light sentence. I think the main problem for starters is that all sentences other than sentences with a minimum are halved for release. That itself makes no sense to me and should not be the case as it confuses people, especially when people have been on remand as that counts as extra.

I just thought. Its a bit like going into a shop and asking how much something is and being told ist £5. So you say, OK, heres £2.50, but hang on, I was waiting in a queue for a while, so heres £2.27.
