I watch a lot of British crime related programmes. Just wondering if anyone has seen any(on youtube) that they would recommend? I recently watched this episode of The Cook Report from 1996. I remember watching when it was first broadcast. It features Colin Stagg, the man who was hounded by the police, media and attacked by members of the public, after being wrongfully accused of the 1992 murder of Rachel Nickell. Poor Colin. They all but point the finger at him in this episode. Piecing together the flimsiest and most tenuous pieces of "evidence" to try and build a case against him. Not the greatest moment for "investigative journalism" www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNmyIWgfHWoAfter watching it, a line from useless Lawyer Lionel Hutz (from the Simpsons) sprang to mind: Judge: (to Hutz) "We've been in here for four hours. Do you have any evidence at all?" Hutz: "Well Your Honour, we've got plenty of hearsay and conjecture. Those are KINDS of evidence" www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQXZ91HD1hA

Another video i recently viewed was "Freedom for Myra Hindley?" A Brass Tacks episode from 1977 www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1qbVllbx6kIn this episode two panels: one for, one against, debate her potential parole and release. For her release are: Maureen Hindley (sister of Myra) Lord Longford (prison reformer, nicknamed 'Lord Porn'); Dr Sarah Trevelyan (ex wife of former gangster Jimmy Boyle and daughter of John Trevelyan BBFC secretary) Janie Jones (ex madam and ex cellmate of Hindley's. Also the subject of a song by the Clash) Against are: Ann West (Mother of Leslie Ann Downey) Arthur Benfield (ex chief supt who worked on the Moors Murders case) Joan Jonker (victim support) and another lady whose name I forget I thought it was an interesting watch. NB: Janie Jones changed her opinion about Hindley in the 1980s, after she admitted to the murders of Pauline Reade and Keith Bennett.

A town and country murders I like. I like that series. Not too sensationalist. Looking through the episode list, I think I've seen them all though!
