"Man gets life for killing mother" A man released from Broadmoor, where he had been a patient for four years, later killed his mother and put her in a boxroom at his home, a Leeds Crown Court was told yesterday. Ronald Abrahams (42), unemployed of Leeds, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mrs Mollie Abrahams (65), between March 1st and April 8th this year (1977), but guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility. This plea was accepted by the Crown and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Newcastle Journal 15th October 1977
Died in custody aged 61, on 30/07/1996, in Frankland prison A man serving a life sentence for killing his mother with an axe, was found dead in his cell at Frankland prison, County Durham, yesterday. Police said a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out on Ronald Abrahams, 61, from Leeds, but it was believed he died from natural causes. He was jailed in 1977 for manslaughter.
