You're not wrong...
Murderer Insane Enest Bramhan, hawker, of no fixed address, who was sentenced to death at Leeds Assizes on April 27th last for the murder of miss Eleanor Hammerton... ...The Home secretary has ordered Bramhan's removal to Broadmoor Asylum, states a Home Office announcement. The execution had been fixed for Thursday next at Leeds. Lancashire Evening post 15th May 1945
The author of the "unsolved murder"article hasn't done his research!

Yes, This was exactly my view but I didn't want to say it and I sort o dont have time to check it thoroughly. Seems like a fairly fundemental oversight that cant be readily remmidied. I know I often 'make mistakes' and often include cases as unsolved that are actually upon deeper research solved, but thats generally in note form. The Star editor has clearly based his authoritive article on a limited data set indicating that they searched their archives, or BNA and jumped at the first mystery they found. I dont have the heart to tell him.

I dont have the heart to tell him. I found the above info within the first couple of articles on BNA, so I'm not sure what his source material was. I hope i didn't come across as mean as we can all make mistakes and press SEND a bit too early!!
