David Green blasted his estranged wife, Carol, to death with a shotgun after waiting outside her home in Whitridge Grove, Bentilee, more than 12 years ago. Green pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Stafford Crown court in 1980 and was sentenced to life in prison. He was freed last year on a life's license to make a new start in Newcastle upon Tyne. But magistrates jailed Green, 37, again after he admitted making a threat to kill Newcastle man Frederick Pleasant with an axe.
