Could the entry be amended to - Heather Amelia V Moore - as her surname is not currently showing.
Have done some online background :-
1st Wife
Florence Mabel Taylor was born on 2/8/1929 in Exeter to Bert Taylor and Ellen Maud Lugg.
She obviously preferred the name Mabel so I will call her that from now on.
In 1939 Mabel was a schoolgirl living with her mother in Exeter in the home of Mortimer and Maud Barrett. Her mother was a housewife. Mabel’s father is not residing with them and I haven’t traced him. I haven’t found any obvious connection between Ellen and the Barretts.
Mabel F Taylor married Frederick Moore in the summer of 1950 in Exeter when she would have been 20/21 yrs. I haven’t found any children of the marriage.
Mabel died in Oct/Nov/Dec 1965 aged 36 yrs in Exeter.
There is no probate record on Find My Past for Mabel. I have been unable to confirm whether she was buried/cremated or where she is interred – but I guess it will be Exeter.
2nd Wife
Heather Amelia Valentina Bird was born in the summer of 1940 in Bridgwater, Somerset. Her mother’s maiden name was Hartland.
Heather, aged 27yrs, married Frederick C Moore in Jan/Feb/Mar 1968 at Trowbridge, Wiltshire. I haven’t found any children associated with the marriage. At her death she and Frederick were living at 404 Spa Road, Melksham, Wiltshire.
Heather died on 5th July 1968 and was cremated on 11 July 1968 at Haycombe Crematorium, Somerset. The Wiltshire Coroner had issued a certificate allowing cremation. The ashes were “taken away for internment”.
An interesting detail on the Cremation record is that Frederick’s name is given as Frederick Clancey More.
Now I see how the surname could just be a misspelling but Frederick must have told the form filler that his middle name was Clancey.
Probate of Heather’s estate was granted at Oxford on 15th July 1969 – Administration £7,256.
[The 2020 equivalent value of £7,256 would be about £102,000].
If I remember my probate law Administration would mean that she had not left a will and presumably the full amount would have gone to Frederick.
Frederick / Charles / Clancey Moo
re
I haven’t got any definite info on Frederick. There are hundreds of Frederick Moore or Frederick C Moore on the records and without further info e.g. his age or birthplace I can’t pin him down.
I haven’t been able to find any more info online – has anyone more details on Frederick?
(I could of course get marriage certificates but that involves expense).
Once Exeter library and records reopen fully I will be able to research Mabel’s case in more depth.
Thoughts-
Why does Frederick appear to change his name adding Charles as a second name then changing it to Clancey? Is he trying to mask his identity ?
Re Heather – she left a useful amount of money was that why she died?
Did he marry again? If so what happened to her?
