Man gaoled for killing his wife A Liverpool floor tiler was gaoled for life at Mold Crown Court today after being found guilty of murdering his wife, whose body was found at the bottom of a mine shaft near Dyserth on 27th May. Michael Geoffrey Peacock, aged 36, of Anfield Road had pleaded not guilty to murdering Barbara Audrey Peacock. The prosecution alleged that Peacock had strangled his wife before throwing her body down the 130ft mineshaft. Liverpool Echo 1st November 1974
Wife killer dies in hospital A Liverpool man who killed his wife has died while serving a life sentence. Strangler Michael Peacock re-married while in jail... Peacock, formerly of Anfield Road, Liverpool, died in Dudley Road hospital, Birmingham. He was serving his sentence at Winsom Green prison, Birmingham. At today's inquest, the coroner adjourned the proceedings to a date to be fixed. Liverpool Echo 8th June 1983
