He was convicted of murder at Leeds Assizes on 14 July 1955. Aged 22 he was sentenced to death but reprieved. He had killed Maureen Ann Robson on 7 May 1955 near Haydon Bridge, Northumberland.

Can't find any evidence he is dead .... technically he wasn't reprieved - he was certified insane (after his murder conviction) and sent to Rampton .... it's poss. he is still in custody, although he'd be nearly 90 ....
